Portals by WeTransfer: less chasing, faster decisions.
Portals’ main goal was to make the client review process less tedious. With Portals and Reviews, we set out to speed up feedback and decision-making between creatives and their clients.
Two sides of the same review.
Creatives got features to present their work and guide their clients’ attention. Clients got features to give feedback in context and on time.
- For creatives: a way to present work as it was meant to be seen, and point clients to what needed a decision.
- For clients: a way to leave feedback right on the work, without long email threads.
My part
As senior product designer on the Portals & Reviews team, my day to day ran from shaping new features to talking with the people who used them. I owned the design of new functionality end to end, kept research close to every decision, and looked for ways to make the product more valuable for both sides of a review.
- New feature development: from early concepts and prototypes to shipped, polished features.
- User research: interviews and testing with creatives and their clients, feeding straight into the roadmap.
- Growing the value: finding where Portals and Reviews could do more for creatives, and turning that into features worth paying for.
- Design system: alongside the product work, I managed the entire WeTransfer design system library, keeping components consistent across teams and products.
